Makove (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and store personal information when you use our photo editing mobile application.


1. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide:

  • Account Info (if applicable): Date of birth, email, username.
  • Photos and User Content: Photos you upload or edit in the app, metadata (e.g., time, location).
  • Feedback & Support: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email, and details about the issue.

b. Automatically Collected Info:

  • Device Data: IP address, OS version, device type, crash logs, system language.
  • Usage Data: How often you use the app, features used, filters applied, session length.
  • Approximate Location: Country or city based on IP address.

c. Face Data (Special Category):

  • We collect and store face images and edited (after makeup) images in Google Cloud Storage to enable users to apply filters and makeup effects, and to revisit and manage their image history.
  • Retention period: Face data is stored for up to 365 days to allow users ongoing access to their image history and edit history. This period is chosen to provide convenience while respecting user privacy. After 365 days, the data is automatically deleted unless the user deletes it earlier.
  • Third-party data handling: Face data is stored exclusively in Google Cloud Storage, which acts as our cloud infrastructure provider. Google Cloud does not access or use this data for its own purposes. We do not share face data with any third-party services beyond cloud hosting.
  • Users can permanently delete stored face data at any time via in-app controls.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To apply filters and image effects.
  • To store image editing history for user access.
  • To maintain and improve app performance.
  • To respond to inquiries and support requests.
  • For security, debugging, and analytics (e.g., Firebase).
  • To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.

3. How We Share Your Information We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data in these limited cases:

  • With service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics) who help operate our app. Face data is only stored in Google Cloud and not accessed or processed by any third party.
  • When legally required (e.g., law enforcement requests).
  • With your explicit consent (e.g., linking to third-party platforms like Facebook or Apple).

4. Your Rights & Choices

  • You may access or delete your personal data at any time.
  • You can delete stored images and request account deletion in the app or by contacting support@hapiga.com.
  • You may opt-out of analytics via your device settings.

5. Data Retention

  • We retain user account data as long as your account is active.
  • Face and makeup images are stored in Google Cloud Storage for up to 365 days unless deleted earlier by the user.
  • Crash logs and analytics are retained only as necessary.

6. Children’s Privacy

  • The app is not intended for users under 13 (or local minimum age). If you are a parent and believe your child provided personal data, please contact us.

7. International Users

  • Your data may be stored in or transferred to servers outside your country (e.g., US, Singapore).
  • We comply with relevant data protection laws for international transfers.

8. Updates to this Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with a new “Effective Date.”
