These Terms apply to the Bible Scroll Android app and its related services. Bible Scroll is provided by Hapiga Vietnam Company Limited, also known as Hapiga Studio (“Hapiga,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using Bible Scroll, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. It is a notice of our data practices, not a request for consent to every form of processing.
1. Who can use the app
Bible Scroll is intended for people aged 13 or older. You must also have the legal capacity to accept these Terms and meet the requirements that apply where you live. If you have not reached the age of majority, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms and supervise your use where required. Purchases must be authorized by the person who controls the payment account.
2. What Bible Scroll provides
Bible Scroll provides Scripture reading, search, reading plans, personal notes, saved verses, reading progress, sharing tools, and preferences. Some features need internet access or a paid subscription. Optional AI study features generate explanations of selected Scripture passages.
The available translations and features are those shown as available in the app. A subscription does not grant access to a translation or service that we do not offer.
We may update the app to fix problems, maintain security, or change features. We will provide any notice, consent process, refund, or other remedy required by applicable law or Google Play rules when a change affects a paid service.
3. Installation identity and saved data
You do not need to provide a name, email address, or password to read. The app uses an installation identifier to support subscriptions and secure online features. This is not an email account or a service for syncing your notes across devices.
Notes, saved verses, plans, and other reading data are stored on your device. Device backups may restore some of this data, but we do not guarantee that data will survive app removal, a device reset, or a device change. Keep a separate copy of anything important to you.
You can use Restore Purchases to ask Google Play and RevenueCat to check an eligible subscription. Restoration depends on the store account, the purchase, and the store’s rules. It does not restore personal notes or guarantee recovery of a previous installation identity.
4. Subscriptions and Google Play billing
The Google Play purchase screen shows the price, currency, billing period, included offer, and any trial before you confirm. That screen controls the offer you buy. Eligibility and local prices can vary.
- Payment: Google Play processes payment through your Google account. RevenueCat helps us verify purchases and provide premium access.
- Renewal: A recurring subscription renews unless you cancel it through Google Play. Cancel before the next renewal or the end of a trial to avoid the next charge, as described in the purchase terms.
- Trials: If you accept a free trial, it converts to the paid subscription shown at purchase unless you cancel before it ends. Not all plans or users qualify for a trial.
- Cancellation: Manage or cancel through Google Play subscriptions. Removing Bible Scroll, clearing its data, or requesting deletion of personal data does not cancel a subscription. Access generally continues to the end of a paid period, subject to the purchase terms and applicable law.
- Refunds: Refund eligibility follows applicable law and Google Play’s refund policies. Contact Google Play or our support team for help with a purchase issue. These Terms do not remove a refund or cancellation right that the law gives you.
- Price changes: Any change to a recurring price is subject to Google’s notice and acceptance rules and applicable law.
Usage limits may apply to online study features. A paid subscription does not remove security checks or guarantee unlimited AI requests. An optional trial reminder is a convenience; you remain responsible for managing your subscription even if a reminder is delayed or does not appear.
5. AI study content
AI study output is generated by software. It can misquote a passage, make an incorrect claim, omit context, or express a view that differs from your beliefs. It is not Scripture and is not a statement of divine authority.
Use it as a study aid. Check quotations and interpretations against the Bible and reliable sources. AI output is not a substitute for pastoral care, professional advice, or help in an emergency. You are responsible for checking content before relying on it or sharing it.
Our server uses external AI services, currently OpenRouter and the model providers it routes requests to. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent. Availability, response time, and output can change. We do not guarantee a particular answer or a particular model.
6. Your content and sharing
You keep the rights you have in your own notes and other original material. Using the app does not transfer ownership of that material to us. We process material only as needed for the features you use and as explained in the Privacy Policy.
When you copy, export, or share content, you choose where it goes. You must have the right to share it and respect other people’s privacy. A receiving app or website controls what happens to a copy you send there. We cannot remove those copies for you.
7. App and Scripture rights
Hapiga and its licensors retain their rights in the app’s software, branding, artwork, and other protected material. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on devices you control, subject to these Terms and the applicable store rules.
Scripture editions, translation names, and third-party materials have their own rights and notices. We do not claim ownership of public-domain Scripture. Follow the notices supplied with each edition; your subscription does not transfer translation copyright or grant unrestricted republication rights. Nothing here limits rights granted by an applicable open-source license or by law.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Bible Scroll to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, send malicious software, obtain unauthorized access, or disrupt our services. Do not bypass subscription checks, installation verification, or usage limits. Do not copy, sell, or extract protected app content without permission, except where a license or the law permits it.
We may restrict online access to investigate abuse, protect users, comply with law, or address a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate and legally required, we will explain the restriction and provide a way to contact support. Any rights you have concerning paid access remain subject to applicable law and store rules.
9. External services and links
Google Play, RevenueCat, Google Firebase, OpenRouter, model providers, and Expo support parts of the app. The app can also open external ministry websites or a sharing app you select. External services have their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not make that organization part of Hapiga or establish a sponsorship relationship.
10. Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide a useful and reliable app, but it may contain errors or become unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, we provide it as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, or preservation of every saved item.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect losses caused by use of the app, such as lost business opportunities. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or any liability or consumer guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory remedies remain available.
11. Ending use, changes, and disputes
You may stop using the app at any time. Cancel a subscription separately through Google Play. Sections about content rights, unpaid obligations, and responsibility continue to apply where relevant after you stop using the app.
We may revise these Terms. We will publish the revised version with its effective date and provide notice of significant changes where required. We will seek your agreement where the law requires it.
Applicable law determines the rules and courts that apply to a dispute. These Terms do not take away mandatory protections under the law where you live, require private arbitration, or prevent you from using a court or regulator available to you by law. Contact us first if you would like help resolving a concern.
