This policy explains how data is used, stored, retained, and removed in Bible Scroll for Android. It is provided by Hapiga Vietnam Company Limited, also known as Hapiga Studio. Read it with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Those documents explain privacy rights, service providers, purchases, and eligibility in more detail.
1. Data and its purpose
| Data | Purpose and destination | Storage and removal |
|---|---|---|
| Notes, favorites, liked verses, reading position, plan progress, streaks, and preferences | Provide your personal reading experience on the device | Stored locally. Use available item controls or clear Android app storage. Device backups can retain a separate copy. |
| Generated studies and saved-study selections | Let you return to study results | Results enter local study history automatically. Marking a result as saved is a separate choice. Clearing app storage removes the local history, subject to backups. |
| Installation identity and authentication data | Associate purchases with an installation and protect online features through Firebase and RevenueCat | Credentials use secure device storage. Online identity and access records do not disappear when you uninstall. Contact us about server records. |
| Installation status and request counts | Prevent abuse and apply session and AI usage limits | Stored in our service database. The end of an hourly or daily usage period does not delete these records. |
| Selected verse, reference, translation, and study type | Generate an optional AI study through our server, OpenRouter, and a model provider | Our study handler does not store prompts or answers in a server study-history database. AI providers and hosting systems have separate processing and retention practices. |
| Purchase and subscription information | Verify payments, restore eligible purchases, and provide Premium access through Google Play and RevenueCat | Store and subscription records have separate retention rules. We do not receive your full payment card details. |
| Network, update, and technical records | Operate and protect hosted services and deliver updates through Google Cloud and Expo | Providers may retain IP addresses, request metadata, update identifiers, and error records according to their purposes and policies. |
| Support email and attachments | Respond to a request and investigate an issue | We retain relevant correspondence as needed to handle the request, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. |
The app does not sync your notes or reading history to a Bible Scroll cloud account. Reading bundled Scripture does not require an external chapter request. Reminder settings and schedules are local; the app does not register a remote marketing push token.
2. AI data handling
Online study requests go from the app to our Firebase-hosted service, then through OpenRouter to a model provider. The current default model is Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash. An available AI feature needs internet access, a verified session, and the applicable subscription access.
Our server sends the verse information and study instructions to the AI provider. It does not include your installation identifier, authentication tokens, device secret, personal notes, saved reading history, or payment details in that provider request. Our application handlers do not log the AI request or answer bodies.
Your Scripture choices can reveal religious interests or beliefs. You can use the local reader without requesting an AI study. This policy does not replace any separate disclosure or consent required for sensitive information.
OpenRouter and model providers can have different retention and model-improvement practices. We do not promise immediate deletion or a universal exclusion from training. See the OpenRouter Privacy Policy and provider data practices.
3. Retention and backups
We determine retention by the purpose of the record, service operation, security needs, support requests, disputes, and applicable law. There is no single retention period for all data.
Our authentication, installation-status, and usage-count records currently have no automatic expiry. They are not automatically removed by uninstalling the app, cancelling a subscription, or reaching the end of a usage period. You can request deletion of records we can identify as yours, subject to verification and lawful exceptions.
Android or your device manufacturer may back up the local reading database. Our Android backup rules exclude secure identity and authentication stores. A later restore can bring reading data back without restoring access credentials. Manage backups through your device or backup provider.
When you export or share a verse, copies can remain in Photos, another app, or a recipient’s storage. We cannot remove those copies through Bible Scroll. The app attempts to remove its temporary image files after the export or share operation.
4. Request access, correction, portability, or deletion
To request help with data held by us, email support@hapiga.com with the subject Bible Scroll — Data Request.
- Say whether you want access, correction, portability, or deletion, and describe the records concerned. Where the right to portability applies, you can request qualifying data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and a direct transfer to another provider where technically feasible.
- Tell us whether the request concerns an installation, a purchase, or earlier support correspondence. You do not need to send personal notes or identity documents with the initial request.
- We may ask for limited additional information to locate the records and verify your request. Because the app does not use an email login, your email address alone may not identify installation records.
Do not send your device secret, authentication tokens, passwords, or full payment card details. We will explain what verification is needed and respond as required by applicable law. If we cannot locate records or must retain some information for a lawful reason, we will explain the limit on the request.
There is no in-app cloud-account deletion button in the current app. A request to us concerns records we control and any provider records we can direct our service providers to handle. Independently held Google Play records, device backups, shared copies, and other third-party records may require a separate request to their provider. See the provider links in our Privacy Policy.
Removing identity or access records may prevent an existing installation from using online features. Restoration of an eligible purchase remains subject to Google Play and RevenueCat rules. Data deletion does not cancel a subscription. Manage cancellation separately in Google Play subscriptions.
5. Remove local data
Use the app’s controls to edit notes or remove saved selections where those controls are available. Removing a saved selection does not necessarily remove its underlying reading or study history.
To remove the app’s local database, open Android Settings, select Bible Scroll under Apps, then use its storage controls to clear app data. Labels vary by device. This can remove notes, plans, preferences, study history, and local access settings. Check backups separately before a reinstall or restore. Clearing local data does not request deletion from our servers or cancel a purchase.
You can disable reminders through the app or Android notification settings. Delete exported images and shared copies through the services where you saved or sent them.
6. Protection, changes, and contact
We use encrypted network connections, secure device storage for credentials, and checks on access to online services. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee complete security. Our Privacy Policy explains international processing, privacy rights, and our general-audience age rule of 13 or older.
The current app does not use advertising or general product-analytics services. Additional services, such as advertising, analytics, cloud sync, or external translation providers, can change the data involved. We will update the relevant notices and obtain consent where required before introducing new data practices.
